History
Templepatrick CC has been going strong for almost 40 years now. During this time
there has been a steady progression within the club until the present day when we
have some of the best cricketing facilities at The Cloughan, and field 4 Saturday
teams, Under 15, Under 13 and Under 11 teams.
A large part of the club is the enjoyment level and camaraderie between members.
Over the past few years we have attracted many players and the first thing they
say is how much they enjoy the club and feel a part of it. The game is there to
be enjoyed and we certainly do that.
Coaching
This season 9 of our members are fully qualified coaches, enabling them to coach
the Youth and Senior teams. This allows for the best individual coaching therefore
enhancing everyone’s game.
Each Youth team has two qualified coaches with a Templepatrick Cricket Club Development
Officer Qualified to Level 3 ( the only Level 3 coach in N. Ireland ) . This has
already started to bear fruit with members representing Ulster and Ireland at Youth
level.
Quality Clubmark Award
We are one of the few cricket clubs in Ireland to have achieved the Clubmark award.
This is awarded by the Sports Council, in recognition of developing a quality club
regarding the youth section.
Areas such as coaching, safety, facilities, administration, opportunities, child
care and development were all assessed.

We in Templepatrick Cricket Club are committed to good practice, which protects
young people from harm. Members, coaches, officials and voluntary helpers in Templepatrick
CC accept and recognise their responsibility under the Children (NI) Order 1995
to provide an environment which promotes the safety of young people at all times.
In order to safeguard the young people in our care we will:
- Develop an awareness of the issues, which may lead to young people being harmed.
- Create an open environment, by identifying a `contact person' to whom young people
can turn if they need to talk. This will be the coach or Cricket Development Officer.
Responsible Office Bearers will be the President, Chairman and Secretary.
- Adopt child centred and democratic coaching styles.
- Adopt child protection guidelines through codes of conduct for players and all adults
working in the club. Adults may include coaches, parents, leaders and volunteers.
- Ensure careful recruitment, selection and management procedures.
- Ensure complaints and disciplinary procedures are included in our constitution.
- Share information about concerns with young people and parents and others who need
to know.
